A song/poem by me, J.T.

To go back in time, well that’s my most enduring fantasy
To make better choices on love, money, friendships and family
How different, and likely better it would have all turned out
If we could go back and remake life’s most important choices throughout.

The streets of life we stroll around and sometimes stumble
Are paved with the walking stones crafted from fate’s volcanic rubble
Who are we to declare it shouldn’t be this way
When it is us who chose the roads and pathways of yesterday

The scrapes, broken hearts and emptied coffers throughout one’s life
Sure could have been remedied if we could go back, and pare out the bad choices with a pocket knife
So here we all are, left with the reality of our own decisions
Picking up the pieces of our broken hearts, dreams and visions

Now wait, for sure, our future is up to us to build, mold and enthusiastically create
Our past experiences are the foundation from which our final destiny will generate
The mind, body and soul is a remarkable construct of the universe and our higher power
Frozen, broken and weathered during winter; the strongest of seedlings always rise up from the soil and flower

Still……I know you too, at the end of the day, most likely feel the very same way
It’s really easy to think and enthusiastic to say
To go back in time, well that’s my most enduring fantasy
To make better choices on love, money, friendships and family
