“gentle monarch butterfly”

A song/poem by me, J.T., for……
Gentle butterfly landed on my soul that warm November eve
Delicately but purposely fluttering on her round trip journey through space and time
Beautiful eyelashes, chocolate brown features and orange gossamer wings
When you return here next, please stay forever
Instinct and fate guides her in her quest for friendship, nourishment and love
Will it be the sunflower, tulip, orchid or dandelion today
She stays on her perch if only for a brief moment to suckle
Let the breeze and fortune decide your path forward, under the moon and the sun
Fluttering here and there, myself on a quest for a mate
I captured her attention, if only for just a moment
We landed on the same flower that fateful misty day
Our wings in unison, singing in harmony our song of pheromones and possibilities
Our worldly nest, we made shortly thereafter
All of the accoutrements of our journeys made as one:
Earth from Brazil, Flowers from Holland and Jewels from Spain
Our tango of life, two butterflies in step, in flight, through our twist and turns and lows and highs
Gentle butterfly landed on my soul that warm November eve
Delicately but purposely fluttering on her round trip journey through space and time
Beautiful eyelashes, chocolate brown features and orange gossamer wings
When you return here next, please stay forever
