A Few Haiku on Hang Gliding, Paragliding & Hot Air Ballooning

When reading haiku, slow down the pace… no need to hurry. And let the weight of the carefully chosen words break free and become weightless while they marinate in your mind for a spell… as the imagery and meaning of each haiku eventually become crystal clear. I’ve enjoyed these thrilling sports for many, many years and hope you enjoy the haiku! Cheers!
To float… with winds cool
To rise… bathed in June sunlight
To taste… atmosphere
Hold on, hold on tight!
Run like there’s no tomorrow!
From silk, we’ll take flight!
Soar like a condor
Let my spirit carry me
To set my soul free
Our great leap of faith
Landing gently, on sand soft…
São Conrado glide!
Afloat… just our thoughts
Desert winds, whisper her truth
Dubai at sunrise
Rising up… gently
Amidst quiet solitude
No words be spoken
Equanimity:
At dawn, as our ship took flight
Weightlessness solace
Morn’ glide, with my girl
Buckle up lil’ buttercup
Let’s give it a whirl!
Aspen Mountain scene
Tied up, nice-n-tight, in flight
Spaces in-between
Our trip, up the peak
Just as thrilling as our flight
Times two was our fright!
Scaling peaks, at dawn
Nervous anticipation
Screaming in our minds
Have no fear, my dear
Calculations da Vinci
Soft landing be near
Up here, way up high
All thy worries in the world
Fade… in August sky
Dreams of Pegasus
Soaring o’er peaks jagged
Prancing with the wind
Man in flight, hot winds
Like leaves, falling from the sky
Twists & turns & bends
Eagle flying high
Show us the way, show us how
To soar like angels
